Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE : Manage the operations of the front office, providing a positive and knowledgeable first point of contact for Great River School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Greet people upon entry and direct them to appropriate place: REQUIRE sign in.
Monitor school-wide attendance daily, account for absent students, and reconcile attendance records on the day of
Answer parent /family/students questions (refer to info@ and the website)
Answer phones (priority #2 to attendance and crises)
Answer doors
Monitor, track and hand out bus cards/passes
Act as command center for communication among various entities
Send out and receive/distribute mail
Monitor signing in/out of students
Schedule field trip buses
Directing staff to: use the paper form, two week notice minimum
Gather/disseminate messages from parents to students (or staff when necessary)
Messages should be emailed to info@greatriverschool.org or phoned in to extension 17.
See to immediate needs of building - hand off to appropriate person
If it’s a need that can be dealt with within 72 hours, report on the online form.
If it’s an immediate need, report via email or text to HoS.
Monitor/order supplies as needed for general building/faculty use (non-departmental)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

Required:
Experience managing a central hub requiring attending to several situations occurring simultaneously.
Willingness to manage a high level of emotion and need coming to the front office while maintaining composure and professionalism.
Willingness to deal immediately with unexpected situations AND ability to refer situations elsewhere when the front office is not appropriate.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and website maintenance
Preferred:
Experience in an educational setting
BA or BS Degree
Experience with database management
