Job Description

Skyline Math and Science Academy, a K-6 school located in South Minneapolis is looking for passionate, and innovative Dean of Academics/Instructional Coach/Program Design Person with the following proficiencies:
• Primary responsibility is to provide instructional support and guidance to teachers.
Performance Responsibilities:
• Assists in the formal coaching of effective teaching strategies with teachers.
• Serves as a coach to individual and teams of teachers to determine intervention needs.


• Assists teachers in organizing classrooms for effective instruction. 

• Models instruction that connects curriculum and assessment practices in classrooms.
• Conducts formal and informal teacher evaluations. Provides constructive feedback. Supports the Head of School with the overall teacher evaluation system.

• Meets with teachers to interpret and use data to inform instruction.
• Assists in the planning of professional development options and other in-service programs to help raise the level of instructional performance in all content areas. 

• Participates in proposed and ongoing curriculum development projects. 

• Contributes to reports, Title applications, strategic plans and other documents that communicate the schools needs and results related to student achievement and the overall learning program.
• Other job responsibilities as assigned by Head of School.

• Analyzes and interprets data efficiently and effectively to support instruction and report on progress.
• Demonstrates efficient time management skills, including, but not limited to following established routines, task completion, and following timelines. 

• Communicates recommendations and/or suggestions clearly to all persons involved. 

• Minimum Qualifications: 

• Three years of successful teaching experience. 

• Leadership team experience - conducting observations, leading PLCs, and providing program input.
