Job Description

This is a full-time long-term sub-to-hire position.

The Art Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing appropriate, standards based, creative, and engaging art lessons for children in grades K-6. When possible, collaboration with regular classroom teachers and cross-content lessons are encouraged. The ideal candidate has a passion for art, is dependable, creative, enthusiastic, professional, and has the ability to build strong rapport with students and parents.

Job Duties:
Follow classroom teacher lesson plans
Provide effective classroom management skills/strategies and follow the school’s behavior plans and procedures
Interact positively and effectively with students, administration, staff, and teachers
Report to substitute assignment on time
Supervise hallways/corridors to maintain student safety
Follow up with the regular classroom teacher as directed through notes, etc
Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build a positive school culture
Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities
Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers
Any other assigned duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: Experience working with K–8th grade students preferred
Licenses: Valid teacher certification
