Rivera Architects Inc. established in 2003, provides full service architectural design services to public charters, public and private schools. The key firm leadership brings fresh energy and creativity to each project, along with over 20 years of experience in the design of educational facilities.  This experience includes everything from renovations, new construction, deferred maintenance projects to complicated building restorations.  Our talent, expertise and client dedication is inspired by new challenges and opportunities.  Our involvement is provided throughout the entire project.

Rivera Architects Inc.’s practice consists predominantly of educational facilities.  Much of our work comes from repeat clients.  Our goal is to build long term relationships by providing excellent service.  We have maintained relationships, some that have lasted 15-17 years.  Rivera Architects has worked with over 25 charter schools.

Rivera Architects has the experience and knowledge to have submitted the first “Review and Comment” for a charter school to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and assisted the other schools. We continually educate ourselves on current Charter School Laws

Rivera Architects Inc. offers a wide range of professional planning and design services:

  • Architecture
  • Review and Comment and MDE Requirements
  • Educational facility planning
  • Feasibility studies
  • Building and life/safety code analysis
  • Interior design

We are dedicated to providing quality service and projects to our clients.  We follow a comprehensive quality control process in order to minimize construction issues.  Our team of consultants is selected on a project basis, matching experience to project scope and client needs.

We listen to our clients’ needs and respect and incorporate facility standards established.  However, when appropriate will suggest building systems, products or components that may be more cost effective, sustainable or easier to maintain.  The initial investment in durable materials and high performing mechanical and electrical systems pays for itself over the life of the building.

We know the financial and planning issues that challenge charter schools. We connect planning, programming, design, and budget to educational objectives, curriculum requirements, and grade span decisions. We will do our part to maintain the budget through a continuous exchange of ideas, concepts and solutions between the project team.
