Day at Capitol

Annually, the Minnesota Association of Charter Schools sponsors and coordinates a charter school day at the Minnesota Capitol during the legislative session. The day is an opportunity for the entire charter school community (parents, educators, administrators, board members and students) to come together to meet with legislators, tell the story of Minnesota's charter schools, and advocate for the public policy legislative agenda ratified by MACS member schools. Advocacy Updates

Public policy advocacy on behalf of the charter school movement has been and continues to be the heart and soul of the government affairs work of the Association.The Association strives to inform and engage the school community in important public policy debates, activities at the State Capitol, and the implementation of changes in law through a variety of mediums, including quarterly policy forums, weekly updates during the legislative session, and policy webinars and teleconferences.
