Starting the spring of 2008, the MACS Board of Directors approved several initial awards in an on-going series of awards and recognitions to celebrate the people, ideas and programs that are contributing to the quality and growth of the charter school movement in Minnesota.

This award is designed to recognize the contributions of individuals who have played a pioneering role in the charter school movement, or in a charter school in Minnesota
This award is designed to recognize individuals in the legislative or executive branches of Minnesota government who have championed the cause of charter schools through specific action requiring outstanding service, political courage and/or the expenditure of political capital
