http://macsadvocate.blogspot.com ______________________________________________________________________________ Purpose:
The blog is focused around legislative policy that affects Minnesota Charter Schools. The purpose is to make people aware of the latest happenings at the legislature regarding bills and policy decisions that affect Minnesota Charter Schools.
To increase awareness, the blog will include alerts regarding important bill activities, and it will also provide key tools to allow individuals in the charter community to take an active role--these tools include directions for finding out the district you are located in, the contact information for your local legislator, and a "how to follow legislative bills" piece (to be added to the blog shortly).
This blog will provide individuals with in-depth communications on the legislature, complementing and expanding upon emails and e-newsletter alerts provided by the MACS office. By providing the charter community with in-depth and timely information, we aim to motivate charter school supporters to take action on decisions important to the Charter Schools in our state.
Types of Information to be Posted:
Virtually any media that will transfer to a digital format is acceptable—this would included video, audio, pictures and textual media.
Through this multi-media format, the blog will be interactive and informative. Reports that would typically be provided in textual format will come alive with this new media.
Contributions:
Aaron Grimm, the blog administrator, will take content submissions or "scoops" (a hint that something is happening and even audio or video of a news worthy event), with the understanding that MACS must approve the post. Submissions should provide information that is strategic in nature.
Suggestions on how to better serve members are always welcome—this blog is intended as a learning experience for everyone involved.
