Eugene Piccolo
Executive Director
Eugene's educational background includes a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of St. Thomas and a M.A. in Non-public School Administration - Secondary and Elementary, also from the University of St. Thomas. A veteran educator and former Assistant Commissioner in the Minnesota Department of Education, Eugene has had a career in education spanning more than 30 years.
As an Executive Director, Eugene has a vital role in charter school advocacy. This includes organizational training and development, with special concentration pertaining, but not limited to school administration, public policy, and governance. Eugene has made continuous efforts in strengthening growth and innovation in the charter movement, with a renewed commitment to both high quality and real accountability.

Margaret Uttke
Membership & Communications Director
Margaret's educational background includes a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota - Morris and a M.A. in English Literature from the University of Notre Dame. Margaret also has extensive expertise and training in communications and human relations, as well as a passion for education gleaned from numerous teaching experiences at both the secondary and collegiate level.
As the Membership & Communications Director, Margaret is in charge of all membership relations & related programs, and she also oversees the MACS events, trainings, workshops and informational sessions. She is the staff liaison in charge of preparations for the MACS Board of Directors meetings, the Governance Issues Committee, the Membership Recruitment & Retention Committee, the Human Resources Committee, the Awards & Recognition Committee, and the Fall Conference Planning Committee. As the communications guru for the association, she is in charge of the website maintenance, designing and disseminating the organization's print and electronic newsletters, and creating surveys for further analysis. Margaret also serves as a resource for much of the general office communications.

Kevin Callaghan
Communications & Programs Associate
Graduating from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in May 2009, Kevin received a B.A. in both Communication Studies and Spanish. He has experience in both sales and public relations, but Kevin’s passion for education has made him the most recent addition to the MACS staff.
As the Communications & Programs Associate, Kevin is instrumental in the management of the Re-licensure committee, coordination of MACS events, communication with the charter community, and execution of various programs. Providing support to both the Executive Director and Membership & Communications Director, Kevin also assists with website maintenance, the organization's newsletters, and the creation of surveys.
