Associate Membership - Sponsor

The Associate Membership-Charter School Sponsor is open to all organizations in Minnesota that sponsor charter schools.

By joining the Associate Membership-Charter School Sponsor, you become an active part of an association committed to promoting innovation, quality, choice and accountability in public education by promoting charter schools in Minnesota. Your Associate Membership- Charter School Sponsor will give your organization the opportunity to:

• Participate in the leadership of MACS by serving on the membership committees that will be addressing a variety of issues including charter school governance, school leadership and school accountability;
  

• Participate in developing the MACS public policy agenda, especially on those issues that affect the relationship between schools and sponsors;
  

• Be kept abreast of information and ideas necessary to the advancement of the charter school movement by receiving automatic subscriptions to The Charter School Advocate (our e-newsletter on public policy issues and legislative action), The Charter School Leader (e-newsletter for charter school leadership), The Charter School Trustee (e-newsletter for charter school board members), and a quarterly newsletter, The Innovator debuting in Winter of 2006-2007 that will focus on telling the stories of our charter schools;
  

• Attend MACS sponsored workshops and conferences at membership rates; and
  

• Participate in a quarterly issues forum on sponsor - school relations. (This forum is being initiated based on the recommendation of our schools at our Annual Meeting held this past March).

All you need to do to become a MACS Charter School Sponsor - Associate Member is complete and return an application form along with your membership fee to the MACS office.
