Conferences & Training offered by MACS


MACS is currently working to expand the areas of training and conferences for its members and the larger charter community. Currently, we offer a series of courses on Board Governance, and we have begun to offer workshops on legal issues pertaining to charter schools.

Board Governance

MACS offers six courses on various aspects of board governance in charter schools. This series of courses provides both an overview of the general laws and responsibilities related to charter school boards, as well as in-depth studies of particular issues such as governance versus management, and financial issues.

Legal Issues in Charter Schools

MACS has just launched the first of a number of workshops on legal issues pertaining to charter schools. These workshops, led by legal experts, will provide members of the charter community with key information concerning important legal issues of note, such as religion and free speech in the charter school.
