Toward an Equitable Future: Charter Schools and School-Funding Litigation
Wednesday, August 3, 2011
The Issue Brief examines the charter school funding landscape among the states, discusses whether charter schools receive equitable funding, and draws parallels with school finance cases.
Note: The data used in the Brief is from 2006-2007, which shows almost equitable funding between charters and traditional districts in Minnesota. The funding disparity between charters and traditional districts in Minnesota has grown significantly since that era with the shift from state aid to property tax funding of education.
