Dan's educational background includes a B.A. in Elementary Education from Bethel University and a Masters in Educational Administration also from Bethel University. In addition, Dan obtained his Educational Administrative Licensure through Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Dan’s educational career spans more than 24 years. This includes 9 years of teaching (6 in a traditional public school district and 3 in a Minnesota charter school). Dan then worked for 13 years in charter school administration, followed by a year and a half at the Minnesota Department of Education as the Authorizer Specialist in the Charter Center.
As Associate Director, Dan plays a key role in the functioning of the Association and is involved in all aspects of organizational operations, planning, program development and implementation, advocacy, and facilitating community and partnerships.
In addition, he is actively engaged in implementing the Association’s 2013 – 2016 Strategic Outcomes related to public policy advocacy, board and school leadership development and support, research projects, membership support and assistance, community and partnership building, and communication campaigns.
