Virtual Charter School Day at the Capitol
|Date(s)||Wednesday, March 3, 2021|
The annual Charter School Day at the Capitol will be on Wednesday, March 3rd and is going virtual this year! The goal of the day is for the charter school community to tell the story of charter schools, create and strengthen relationships with legislators, and advocate for the public policies adopted by the Association’s membership.
All charter schools are invited to participate. Since MACS will take care of the logistics of setting up legislator meetings, we ask that you register no later than Friday, February 19. Please keep in mind though, the earlier you register the more flexibility we will have to schedule your meetings. We will be trying to set up a meeting with both your State Representative and your Senator. Meetings will likely last 10-15 minutes.
Guidelines for the day:
- No more than 3 representatives from each school
- At least 1 direct constituent if possible
- This event is not intended to be a "class field trip." MACS is planning a virtual advocacy event for students at a later date!
You will receive plenty of information before the event, along with an orientation in the days leading up to the event. If you have any questions, please contact Mike at email@example.com
