Mathematics - – We’re growing!
Successful candidate will have a degree in mathematics and experience teaching Math at a high school and/or college level. Courses will include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Precalculus.
Creates lessons and learning environments that are safe, respectful, and interesting as well as Multicultural/Gender/Ability Fair. Selects, adapts and individualizes materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skills.
Teaches students the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solving.
Collaborates and communicates regularly with families in making educational decisions and uses family and community resources to support learning. Assesses students' developmental, cognitive, and social needs and provides developmentally appropriate instruction to meet those needs.
Minnesota licensure in multiple areas preferred.

A tuition-free public charter school serving approximately 130 students in grades 9 and 12 Rochester STEM Academy was 1 of only 2 charter school applications in the entire state to be approved in 2010 and chosen to receive a federal planning grant. Its founding board was brought together in response to the pent-up demand for an academically rigorous charter high school that could give a viable boost to Rochester’s industries and children in terms of both academics and future employment.
In 2018, 24 seniors graduated and three of them received their Associate Degree from Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) before receiving their high school diplomas. This fall, we already have 25 students registered at RCTC!
