The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive officer of LILA, the professional advisor to the LILA Board of Directors, and is directly accountable to the LILA Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for guiding and directing all operations and activities of LILA referring to the LILA School Board’s most recent Strategic Plan and to LILA’s Mission Statement for decision-making guidance. The Executive Director shall inform the Board of Directors of LILA’s needs related to current and future operations, shall recommend policies to the LILA Board of Directors and, when adopted by the Board, shall be responsible for implementing, interpreting, and executing those policies.
Minnesota K-12 Principal or Superintendent’s License
Advanced Degree in Education, Administration, Second Language Teaching, or Language Acquisition
School Administration Experience, preferably in a language immersion or IB school
Experience in Charter School administration
Experience recruiting and managing multinational staff
Experience procuring employer sponsored visas for foreign national employees
In-country K-12 education experience in both Spanish- and Mandarin-speaking countries
Experience with IB program renewals
Certifications from IB Administrator workshops
About LILA: Lakes International Language Academy is a PreK-12 public school educating over 1200 students. The school opened in 2004, added grades 7 - 12 in 2015 and 2016. The school is located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, with authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the PYP, MYP and DP Programs as an IB World School.
We offer Spanish and Mandarin language immersion in PreK-5 and an immersion continuation program in grades 6 - 12, as well as entry points for non-immersion students in a language rich environment.
