Job Description


To assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring the effective functioning of facilities.  To provide an efficient and safe environment for students and employees and their activities by using best practices to manage resources, services and processes.

Facility Maintenance and Repair under the direction of the Facilities Manager
Inspect assigned buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair, making notes and recommendation.
Perform minor electrical maintenance, including, but not limited to, replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses, etc.).
Configure, install, position and remount modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces,storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and/or hand trucks.
Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
Oversee the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas and the removal of trash and snow.
Perform assigned preventative maintenance of facility equipment.
Act as the primary facility contact for all personnel in assigned building(s).
Perform assigned Samanage tickets to completion.

Facilities Management (as assigned by Facilities Manager)

Coordinate and assist with departmental and employee moves.
Oversee facility repairs and renovations as assigned.
Vehicle Management
Properly maintain school-owned vehicles located at assigned building(s).


Manage incoming and outgoing shipments related to assigned building(s).
Maintain positive, professional relationships and use appropriate verbal, nonverbal and written communication with all individuals.
Regular, prompt attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

High school diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass driving test and record check

Previous experience performing general maintenance work

Knowledge of purchasing, supplies, equipment repair and vendor coordination


Multi-site facilities experience

Basic knowledge of general construction

Institution Description

Lionsgate Academy is a public charter school open to students of all abilities in grades 7 through 12, and also offers a transition program for students ages 18-21. Lionsgate’s program is inclusively designed to address the unique learning needs of students living on the autism spectrum as well as students with other learning differences.
