Job Description
The teacher is responsible for providing an educational environment where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. The teacher is responsible to organize and implement an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with the school mission and goals, and align with MN state standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would be a personable, flexible individual with a valid MN teacher licensure. Kindergarten endorsement a plus. A strong science background is helpful. Knowledge of Ojibwe culture and communities is helpful.
Self-Motivated, Hard Worker and Team Player are good assets of the ideal candidate
Institution Description
Oshki Ogimaag Charter School is a small school located on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota. We are a responsive classroom school that is working to build an integrated curriculum with a focus on environmental education and science.
The small class sizes and multi-grade classrooms at our school create a perfect opportunity for our staff to build strong relationships with students and families and to individualize instruction and support when needed. Students at Oshki Ogimaag receive instruction in Ojibwe Language and Culture throughout the school year. Weekly expeditions to a nearby wilderness area offer opportunities to enjoy nature, build community, and get first hand experience building both traditional and modern knowledge and skills.
