Job Description

Second Grade Teacher Job Description
We are looking for an energetic Second Grade Teacher to prepare our students for entry into the third grade. The Second Grade Teacher's responsibilities include designing and conducting lessons that advance students' social and educational abilities. You should also be able to work in a diverse and multilingual community.

To ensure success as a Kandiyohi Teacher, you should be knowledgeable in Project-Based Learning, STEM curriculum, and hands-on learning.

Qualifications

• Preparing and presenting lessons that facilitate students' cognitive, social, and emotional development.
• Creating a learning environment that is safe and nurturing.
• Assisting students to resolve conflict with others.
• Monitoring and notifying caregivers of students' progress.
• Accompanying students on field trips, as needed.
• Clear, consistent and respectful communicator
• Attentive listener
• Create a fun learning environment while maintaining a well-managed classroom
• Excellent collaborator
• Outstanding critical thinking abilities
• Strong organizational skills
• Good classroom management
• Proficient in the subject(s) you will be teaching
• Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, Education
• State-issued teaching certification
• Relevant experience
• Strong technology skills and the ability to fully embed technology into the instructional program.
• Pass a state-enforced background check
• Upstanding ethics and integrity
• A passion for learning and sharing your knowledge with others

Institution Description

Kandiyohi Academy is tuition-free public charter school serving approximately 120 students in grades K through 4. Kandiyohi Academy is authorized by Innovative Quality Schools and has been chosen to receive a federal planning grant.

Its founding board was brought together in response to the pent-up demand for an academically rigorous and caring charter school with a STEM focus that could give a viable boost to Willmar’s industries and children in terms of both academics and future employment.
