Job Description

Bdote Learning Center Long-term sub for English Language Arts October 20, 2021- January, 2022
ELA Teacher Job Description :

Bdote Learning Center is a dynamic language immersion community focusing on Ojibwe and Dakota language and culture. We seek a compassionate, dedicated teacher to deliver a rigorous English literacy program for students immersed in Dakota and Ojibwe language. Teacher will integrate a place-based, experiential curriculum into English Language Arts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Uses MN State Standards to write appropriate lesson plans and adaptations for intermediate and middle level grades

Integrates school-adopted experiential curriculum into coherent lessons designed to maximize every student’s potential

Supported by team PLCs

Understands and implements school-wide PBIS Discipline Policy and how it relates to all students

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications and Requirements:


Bachelor’s Degree

MN Teacher's License, 5-8 English Language Arts, K-12 ELA or Reading

Experience working with diverse populations

Strong behavior management skills

Strong literacy content knowledge in a balanced literacy framework

Knowledge of indigenous culture a plus

Professional disposition and collaborative nature

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful in the completion of work assignments

Sense of accountability and ownership for work results

Detail oriented, flexible and able to multi-task
