Job Description

We are currently seeking a building substitute who is passionate about hands-on teaching and learning and is a lifelong learner. The building substitute will provide instruction to students in grades 6-12 delivering content, modeling expected behaviors, and managing classroom dynamics. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work indoors and occasionally outdoors. The substitute is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.

Qualifications

* Valid Minnesota Teaching License, Short Call license also accepted;
* Willingness to apply for an appropriate MN License also should apply
* Bachelor’s or advanced degree;
* Aptitude for work with students at various grades, content areas and development levels;
* Develop and maintain a positive learning environment;
* Guide students in the creation of a respectful, non-bias school culture.
* Effective age appropriate classroom management strategies

Institution Description

UMA is located in downtown St. Paul within sight of the Minnesota State Capitol. We serve
students in grades 6 - 12. Our community is actively engaged in deconstructing systems of bias
in all areas so that all our students can learn in an engaging environment to prepare them for
