Job Description

Sojourner Truth Academy (STA) is currently seeking a committed, passionate ADSIS Math Interventionist for grades 3-5, who holds a belief in the ability of our scholars, to join our team for the 2021-2022 school year. This licensed teacher will work alongside 3rd-5th grade classroom teachers supporting our scholars' math needs. We are reviewing applicants now.

*$38,000+ based on experience and credentials

Qualifications

REQUIRED TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education

CERTIFICATE & LICENSURE: Minnesota Teaching License

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

-Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate small group/individual activities
-Ability to collect, analyze, and respond to academic data
-Understanding of the Minnesota State Standards in mathematics and appropriate elementary curricular resources
-Create a positive learning environment for all scholars
-Acts as a team player
-Has a solutions-oriented approach
-Maintain attention to detail and effectively prioritize workload and multiple tasks to align with the needs of our scholars and school community as a whole
-Talks about our work, scholars, families, and community is a respectful way
-A proven passion for working with urban youth and an unshakeable belief in their potential
-Demonstrated track record of successfully working in a diverse working environment with people of color (particularly African-American and Hispanic students, staff, and families) and socio-economically disadvantaged communities AND/OR training in cultural competency and/or institutional racism
-Professional attire and professionalism in communicating with scholars, parents and staff
-Receptive to constructive feedback and actively seek help and/or professional development in challenging areas

Sojourner Truth Academy is a results-driven school founded in 1999 and is the oldest, most established charter school in North Minneapolis. Sojourner Truth Academy is a PK-8 open-enrollment public charter school in Minneapolis, MN.
