Job Description

The Athletic Director provides collaboration, and coordination in the area of the athletic program. Additionally the Athletic Director will serve as a support staff in varying capacities to ensure academic success and personal growth among our students.


Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:


1. Coordinates the 6-8 and 9-12 athletic program in collaboration with CEO, Director of Operations and coaches to ascertain programmatic needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure consistency of program.

2. Supervises and evaluates all coaches.

3. Schedules all athletic contests, issues contracts for contests, and maintains the proper and necessary records.

4. Communicate transportation needs to Transportation Manager for all away contests.

5. Oversee and maintain all student athletic files and ensure eligibility status.

6. Performs grade checks for each athlete. Communicate academic concerns with coaches, parents, athlete and administration as needed.

7. Supervises in-house athletic contests and serve as point of contact to officials and visiting schools. Ensure proper paperwork is completed by officials for payment. Submit Payment Request forms to appropriate accounting personnel.

8. Arranges and oversees contest employees and volunteers. Ensure proper paperwork is completed by contest employees for payment. Submit Payment Request forms to appropriate accounting personnel.

9. Advises and ensures all coaches abide and conform with Board, OHSAA, league policies and regulations and with state and federal laws.

10. Attends league and district meetings.


1. Work with elementary students, academically and with behavior, in classrooms as a support staff as assigned

2. Duty: observe and support during recess, breakfast/lunch and hallways as assigned

3. Mentor students, work collaboratively and communicate with relevant staff members, parents and students as necessary

4. Attend behavior conferences when needed


1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

2. Have at least 3 years of experience in an urban setting

3. Be committed to professional growth and development

4. Have knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) is a plus

5. Serve as a role model for promoting effective instruction and professionalism

6. Demonstrate respect for children, colleagues, parents and school leadership

7. Believe in and support the vision and mission of PSA
