Job Description

Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Level: Faculty (Elementary)
Classification: 1.0 Full-time
Benefits Eligible: Yes
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Reports to: Assistant Special Education Director / Special Education Systems Manager
Start Date: School Year 2022-2023

General Job Description:
The position is to work collaboratively within the Special Education Department to support Special Education elementary students. The BCBA conducts descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments including functional behavioral analyses, and provides behavior analytic interpretations of the results. The BCBA assist with the design and implementation of behavior interventions, trains staff on behavioral interventions, consults with IEP team members and provides direct support for students. This is an opportunity to serve the community and to complement and support the mission of the school. Areas of responsibility and Concomitant Tasks:

1. General Responsibilities:
*Participate in evaluation planning meetings and the evaluation process to obtain deep knowledge of the antecedent, behavior, and consequence of a student’s behavior
*Connect with families to learn more about the home school connection in terms of behavior overlap (frequency, duration, intensity, motivation).
*Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff so that they may hone their skills in behavior management.
*Implement onsite instructional and behavioral strategies in a student’s natural environment.
*Model and coach teachers to increase skills.
*Provide direct student support
*Other duties as assigned

2. General Knowledge, Ability and Skills Required:
*Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of a Behavior Analyst
*Comprehensive knowledge and ability to safely implement crisis interventions
*Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
*Knowledge and understanding of Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards, learning theory and practice, curriculum, interventions and programming.
*Demonstrate the ability to organize and synthesize verbal and written data
*Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and respond to needs across multiple settings
*Exhibit the ability to work both independently and within a group structure
*Resolve conflict with problem solving skills
*Maintain a professional demeanor in difficult and or emotional situations
*Appreciate diversity and strive for cultural competency
*Demonstrate organizational skills for tracking a variety of student data
*Respond quickly to a variety of requests
*Work cooperatively and effectively in different environments

Qualifications

*Bachelor’s degree in Education or closely related field
*Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant *Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
*3+ years of related work experience

Physical Requirements:
*Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight
*Frequently requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, learning, and repetitive motions
*Occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching
*Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions
