Job Description

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists teacher in organizing the learning environment, preparing materials and equipment, and completing other tasks as directed by the teacher.
Supervises students in a variety of educational settings.
Conducts routine exercises under the supervision of the teacher.
Handles confidential matters in an appropriate manner.
Communicates and works cooperatively with parents, students and staff.
Records, corrects tests and written work.
Performs housekeeping chores.
Presents a positive attitude by appearance, personal habits and punctuality.
Promotes pleasant manner with staff, students, and visitors.
Maintains confidentiality and data privacy.
Adheres to school policies and procedures.
Attends staff meetings and para meetings as required.
Other duties as required by the Seat Based Director.

Qualifications

Two years of college, associate’s degree or passing score on a paraprofessional exam in reading, writing and math as required by federal law (contact Personnel Office for testing information)
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
Typing, filing and record keeping skills.
Ability to organize work effectively and efficiently.
Knowledge of office equipment/machines.

Crosslake Community Schools' Pre-K-8 seat-based program offers a unique learning environment, specializing in multi-age classrooms and parent/guardian, teacher, and student partnerships. By design, our classes are limited to 19 students - providing for very personalized, high quality educational experiences that are difficult to duplicate in larger school settings. CCS is located in the Brainerd Lakes area and is steps away from Cross Lake, part of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.
