Position Summary:
1.0 FTE Middle School Math Teacher (grades 5-8) opening for the seat-based program

Performance Responsibilities:
● Planning, organizing, and implementing appropriate instructional programs in a middle school learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth
● Demonstrates knowledge of and proficiency with subject matter
● Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
● Plans and delivers instruction for a variety of learners
● Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
● Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
● Understands and uses assessment to promote student learning
● Creates an environment that promotes respect, rapport, and learning
● Establishes effective relationships with students
● Communicates clear and consistent expectations for learning, behavior, and achievement
● Monitors and manages student behavior effectively
● Communicates effectively with families, students, and colleagues
● Communicates student progress in a timely and thorough manner
● Supports the mission and values of the school
● Supports the programs and priorities of the department and school
● Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with staff, students, and parents
● Maintains confidentiality
● Demonstrates professional behavior
● Seeks and develops opportunities for professional growth
● Attends and participates in required meetings, school events, and committee work
● Performs duties as required/requested

Salary or Hourly Range:
Salary based on current pay grid.

Work Schedule and Agreement:
● Number of Days: Board Approved School Calendar Days
● Hours per day: 8; general business hours are 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
● Expected Hours: School Days and Professional Development Days plus scheduled days in collaboration with the Seat-Based Director

Qualifications

● Valid Minnesota Teaching License for the grade and content area assigned, i.e 5-8 Math
● If no appropriate candidates can be found, we would entertain the submission of a Tier 1 license or an out-of-field permission request.

Crosslake Community Schools' Pre-K-8 seat-based program offers a unique learning environment, specializing in multi-age classrooms and parent/guardian, teacher, and student partnerships. By design, our classes are limited to 19 students - providing for very personalized, high quality educational experiences that are difficult to duplicate in larger school settings. CCS is located in the Brainerd Lakes area and is steps away from Cross Lake, part of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.
